Maruti Suzuki India Limited is a leading passenger vehicle manufacturer in India and a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan. Established in 1981, the company has a strong presence in India’s automotive market, with operations spanning vehicle manufacturing, sales, exports, and automotive services.

Maruti Suzuki entered the battery-electric vehicle segment with the e VITARA, its first fully electric vehicle. The model was unveiled in January 2025 as part of the company’s broader electric mobility strategy, “e For Me.”

The e VITARA is developed on Suzuki’s dedicated HEARTECT-e electric vehicle platform and is available with 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options. The 61 kWh version offers a certified driving range of up to 543 km, depending on the applicable testing conditions.

The e VITARA is manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, which serves as a major production hub for the model. The company follows a “Make in India, Make for the World” strategy, with the e VITARA intended for both the Indian market and international markets.

Under its “e For Me” initiative, Maruti Suzuki is developing an integrated EV ecosystem covering home and public charging solutions, EV servicing, digital applications, trained service personnel, and customer support.
